Nakyessa School Project
Nakyessa School was founded by Bishop Grivas Musisi and the
Prayer Palace Ministries of Uganda in 1999. After 40 years of civil war, AIDS and extreme poverty,
Uganda's children had become victims on many levels. Bishop Musisi sought to provide Christian based education
for these disadvantaged children and birthed the Nakyessa School in the rural setting of Nakyessa, just 56 miles
north of Kampala.
The school has 450 students with 60 boarding students and the remaining students attend daily. It is supported and sustain by donations from Canada
and the USA. For the last several years
the school has faced serious financial challenges. Funding and support for the school dropped drastically as a
result of the sluggish economy. By
the grace of God, the school has managed to survive, but is in dyer need of
support to pay teachers, purchase school supplies, building repairs and replace
lavatory facilities.
Although the needs are many, the most pressing need is for
(3) "Pit Latrines". Present
conditions of the existing latrines are very poor and in great need of immediately
attention in order to assure the health and safety of the students and staff. The Latrines will cost 20,580,000 Ug Shillings or $10,290.00 US dollars. Grace Like Rain World Missions has committed to help raise
the much needed funds for this project.
We believe this project can be accomplished within the next six months
by the help of God and with your generous donations.
